We are disruptors.

DeadThreads isn’t only saving fabric from landfills.

Every yard we rescue disrupts the cycle of exploitation and pollution that is built into fabric production.

Donations

Dead Threads thrives on your scraps, your leftovers, your “what was I thinking?” fabric purchases. We’re able to keep prices low because most of our inventory comes from generous donations. If you or someone you love is clearing out their stash, please keep us in mind.

We gladly accept:

  • 1+ yard cuts of woven apparel, knits, and home decor fabrics
  • Quilting cottons in any size, yardage, scraps, and everything in between
  • Quilt tops and unfinished quilt projects (in any stage)

At this time, due to space and time restraints we accept fabric only, no notions or sewing supplies.

We can’t accept:

  • Fabric with strong odors (smoke, mothballs, etc.)
  • Clothing
  • Anything obviously dirty or heavily stained

Donating is easy:

  • Portland, OR: We offer local pickup.
  • San Antonio, TX: Occasional pickup available, just ask!

Shipping your donation?

You’ve got two options:

  • Prepaid label: Send me the dimensions & weight, and I’ll send a UPS label.
  • Ship it yourself: I’ll send you store credit for your shipping cost.

Either way, I'll send you a little bonus for your effort, because you're awesome!
